Turkey thigh and turkey breast carry most of the protein; duck, chicken hearts, egg, and a little chicken liver complete it. It is built for turkey lovers who could use a change, and for cats rotating away from chicken that should stay on poultry: all the meat is turkey and duck. Turkey is the mild bird and duck the rich one, dark and full of flavour, so the duck lifts the taste of a turkey meal without taking it over. Among our turkey meals this is the richest in taste. It is also the easiest first taste of duck for a cat that eats turkey. If your cat takes to it, the Duck Meal is all duck. The organs are chicken on purpose: chicken hearts and liver are easy to find fresh all year, while turkey and duck organs rarely are. The omega-3 fats come from salmon oil added at serving. Most of the nutrition comes from the whole foods; supplements only complete what they cannot cover. It follows the proportions of a prey diet, mostly muscle meat with a little organ and a calcium source, and meets the FEDIAF, AAFCO, and NRC profiles for both variations.
