Cookie Policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how The Lils LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://thelils.com (the “Site”), and how you can control them. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device through your browser. Websites use them to remember you between pages and visits, for example to keep you signed in. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, store or read small amounts of data in the same way. We use the word “cookies” for all of them here.
Cookies set by the Site are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company through the Site are third-party cookies.
The cookies we use
Essential cookies. Our sign-in provider sets cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account and our forms against misuse. The Site cannot work without them: you could not sign in, buy, subscribe or open your library.
Payment pages. When you pay or manage your billing, you are on pages operated by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe sets its own cookies there for security and fraud prevention. Stripe’s privacy policy explains them.
Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are used. It sets no cookie, does not follow you across other websites, and gives us aggregated figures rather than a profile of you.
Embedded videos. Some recipe pages embed cooking videos hosted by YouTube, a service of Google LLC, through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. When a video comes into view, your browser connects to YouTube, which receives your IP address and device information and may store an identifier in your browser. YouTube sets its own cookies only when you play the video, and it then collects information such as what you watched, under Google’s own privacy policy. If you do not want to share data with Google, watch our videos on YouTube’s own website instead.
The Site’s own storage. The Site keeps a few preferences in your browser’s own storage, such as the units you chose and which sections you left open. They hold no personal information and never leave your browser.
Newsletter sign-up. Our newsletter form sends the email address you enter to Kit, our newsletter provider, which stores it under its own privacy policy. The form sets no cookie. Newsletter emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; your browser’s help pages explain how. If you block the essential cookies, you cannot sign in to the Site. You can watch our videos on YouTube’s own website instead of through the embeds if you prefer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the cookies we use change or for legal reasons. The date at the top says when it was last updated.
