Homemade Bone Meal

Homemade Bone Meal
1whole food0supplements

Bone meal is the calcium backbone of a homemade diet. Muscle meat and organs are rich in phosphorus but carry almost no calcium, so without a dedicated calcium source, a homemade recipe cannot reach the balance cats need for healthy bones, teeth, and nerve and muscle function. This bone meal closes that gap as a whole-food source of calcium and phosphorus: actual bone, not a powder from a packet. We built this recipe around one principle: keep everything the bone gives you. The bones cook in their own liquid, and that mineral-rich water goes back into the paste, so nothing is lost down the drain. The added water also brings extra hydration to the finished food, a quiet benefit for cats, who rarely drink enough on their own. Made as directed, this bone meal slots into our recipes as the measured calcium source each formulation expects. It is an ingredient, not a complete food. Portioned and frozen, one batch covers weeks of feeding.

  • 1000 g Chicken raw carcass (or raw bones)
  • 250 ml Water
